Laurie Anne Hughes was born on May 2, 1979 in Arkansas. For 6 years she lived in Arkansas and then at the age of 6 moved to Mississippi after 2 years of life in Greenville, Mississippi she moved in 1987 to the Washington D.C. area to Clinton, Maryland after another 2 years in Maryland she moved in 1989 to Springfield,Virginia and in 1997 moved from Virginia to Texas. From 1998 to 2002 Laurie lived in Weatherford, Texas just outside of Fort Worth, Texas. Laurie is very much at home in the Fort Worth/ Dallas area. Laurie adored Weatherford and loved Weatherford College.
Attorney, elected official serving in local government, member of and active in political organizations on a local-to-state level, active in a number of community and county-regional organizations and activities. Methodist Preacher's Kid (PK), Local Lay Speaker and occasional liturgist in local United Methodist Church. Research-oriented information gatherer/absorber. Currently amassing a personal library on religious and other subjects and building a catalogue of the same. Wide, broad interests in people, history, government, culture and language.
I am a wonderfully happy and content retired police officer who patrolled the streets of our city and Stoddard County. On my two days off duty, I went to the schools in our county and taught the D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) program from grades k - 9th. I am now active in my church,as well as teaching sunday school, grades 2-5th. I have 3 wonderful children, am a great and grand mother.
