A cradle Methodist I am approaching my 75TH birthday and wonder if I still have a place in the church. We are urban dwellers and have spent 12 years trying to find a church home. It has been quite a saga! UM churches in our city seem to be divided between those that are moribund and heavily marketed new church plants that have thrown the "baby out with the bath". I long for a congregation that would dare to try the "ancient/future path; where discipling would be intentional; where Wesleyan theology would be taught and sung.

I am the Pastor of United Christian Parish in Lakeport, California
Our purpose as a congregation can be discovered by looking at three sources. The Great Commandment, The Great Commission and our congregational Mission Statement.
The Great Commandment, Matthew 22:37-39
And Jesus said to him, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment.
